What's Next

After a long self debate looking and analyzing at the + and - of extending my Tri season I have decided to not do any more Tris for 2011. The reason is because for the last 3 years I have done big races at the end of the season. In 2008 I did the NY city Marathon,2009 I did Ironman AZ and in 2010 I did Myrtle Beach and Miami 70.3 both in October. This year I started the season early with San Juan 70.3. My off season from 2010 to 2011 was really short. And for 2012 I am already in for San Juan 70.3. Also the week after Timberman 70.3 due to an earthquake and a storm (Irene) training in the area was tough. Most of the pools closed for maintainace or for check up for earthquake damage. Mentally I was feeling tired. For all this reasons I have decided to end the 2011 season, take a few weeks off, just unstructured training, and just do things by feeling for a few weeks. Go out the weekends enjoy the fall weather better. My favorite soccer team in the US DC UNITED is legit candidate to be in the playoffs and why not go deep. I can go to a few games enjoy them drink a few beers and no worry about a long run or bike ride the next morning. I will recharge and then focus on San Juan 70.3. I feel if do all steps properly base, build up, peak and taper I should able to put a good performance at San Juan.
