Super weekend

Yes is the Super Bowl weekend which I don't care at all. Is not last year expectation and they game looks like is going to be a blowout or a comeback. Hopefully the second. I will train a lot. I plan to run 10 -12 miles on Sunday bike 2 hours at home on the trainer because is really bad out side, hit the gym and swim. Probably watch some movies too. I also will complete my 2009 season

In other stuff The new president yesterday had another great comment this time to our beloved friend from wallstreet and the banks " There is going to be time to make money but that time is not now" regarding what they have been doing with the money that government gave them to help their "bad situation".

.Why Don't They Get It? The Marathon-explained

From Triat The Marathon you do it first as a challenge then to see how much time you can shave and then for fun. I see it that simple. Is all the challenge of going the distance. That simple.

Yesterday I took the day off so today back the bike and the gym.

Obama calls Washington DC Area wimps or not tough enough against the snow totally agree.

There is a massive strike going on France today and they are the one doing better against the crisis.

Icy day

Yes is a mess out there. Ice all over the place. is really hard to be out there.As for training yesterday an hour on the bike and then upper body on the gym. Today a run and swim if the weather aloud it.The run is inside unfortunately. There is not much going on in this mess.

Snow Tuesday

Its snowing, is a mess and cars are slippery all over. Oh I forgot is cold and is going to get worst.

Yesterday I went to the pool and had a solid workout so solid that I was impress. Not because was hard but because is really early and I was not expecting to swim this good this early. The workout was 500 to warm up @ 9:47, 300 kick another 500 @9:50 1minute rest another 500 @ 9:44, 1 minute rest 1 last 500 @ 9:50 200 kick to cool down. It was nice.

Today I am going to bike and the gym of course everything will be indoors because is a mess outside.

Bolivia has a new Constitution.
The only 1st world country that is no having a economic trouble is France I wonder why maybe have to do something with left just maybe.

My 2009 season is almost set hopefully by next week I will have it

Nice weekend

This weekend started warm but ended really cold. On Friday I put a nice run tempo effort to get me going 3 miles in 22:30. Then I hit the bike for 30 minute cool down. It was a warm 55 Friday.
On Saturday the cold and the wind strike again with 20 to 30 mile wild gust. My plan was to go out and do an easy light 2 hour bike ride. But the wind had other plans basically if I took to easy the wind didn't aloud me to move. So after a battle with the wind I decided to call a day at the 1:30 time. and yes for only 21 mile. I felt like crap. On Sunday I went out on the cold for a 10 mile run. Was a great run as it was done in 1:32 for a nice easy pace. Then I hit the bike for a 30 minute cool down. I ate a lot at night with the gf.

For today I plan to go the pool if the cold aloud me and the supposely snow that is coming too.

I said supposedly because we haven't have any snow accumulation. I had been extremley cold with out rain or snow weird.

On Bolivia a referendum to change the constitution won. Another victory for a left government.

Happy Friday

Today is suppose to be hot 50 degree day. So cheers for that. I'll be running out side and then a cool down at the trainer. For the weekend will be a lot of training and hopefully will go and watch the movie El Argentino and El Che. They are 2 movies in one and that why it last 4 hours. Other than that this there is not much going in this cold weather. A few good college basketball games are up for these weekend.
February will be a better sport month.

Take It and Run Thursday: How to Run Your Best Half Marathon

This topic about how to race your best 1/2 marathon for me this a complex question due to my best marathon time I ran it with triathlon training. I have never taken a 1/2 marathon as an A race so I can't give any training tip other than divide the race as 2 10ks and 2 1/2 lap. The first 10k is warm up the 2nd to pickup the pace and the last 2 1/2 laps or kilometer is to go full force. My best 1/2 marathon and my worst both came at the same race. The Baltimore 1/2 marathon on 2007 I put 1:40 and on 2008 I put 1:56 walking the last 1 mile 1/2. With better training in 2008 than on 2007.


Yesterday I had a solid workout for with mile repeats at 7:30 and 6 x 200 for 50 and then a cool down at the trainer for 30 minutes solid. Today pool and bike.

Obama is not talking he started to act and thats make me feel good

Wednesday and Obama

Yesterday I took the day off due to stomach issues. I watched the inauguration in the warm of my room because it was to cold to for me to go. Then I went to watch my gf ice skating.
Today my stomach is feeling much better so hopefully I ll be back on track.

Finally Obama is the President, now if he can change this few things I would say is the greatest president of all time. Here is my list.

Closed all the secret prison just as he did today on Guantanamo but that is not the only one
Stop supporting Israel if they continue to attack Gaza. Just a simple
Stop the Cuba embargo this are not 50's any more this are well almost the 10ns there is not any reason.
Aloud Latin America to fully developed and stop supporting Colombia with Military advise and equipment.
Stop the war in Iran and Afghanistan and restore those nations.
And last but no least do something about Puerto Rico what ever he wants but at least is an improvement if put our situation on the department of state than if he leave it the way it is that is a white house matter.

Ohh about the economy is simple regulate wall street regulate the house market tax the big corporations with 5% of their revenues and you see how the pieces will start falling.

Inaguration training weekend

Friday was extremely cold so I went to the gf home and played the Wii to the extreme on Saturday I ran 7 miles and then went to the gym for an upper body workout. On Sunday I biked an hour on the trainer and the went to the HBO concert. Today I am going to the pool then to the gym for a lower body work out and then 30 minutes on the bike.

The concert of Obama was impressive and really crowded. As for me going to anything else probably not because I won't pay to get in on a bowl and I won't beg to any body for free tickets and really i am not interested at all. For the parade and the rest of the stuff is to cold for me I rather watch it on TV.

Take It and Run Thursday! ok a clod Thursday

Theme today is 5k and 10k ...As you are building your training plans for 2009, tell us your plans for training and racing in 5K's and 10K's. Share your favorite off the shelf or home grown training plans. Tell us about your favorite 5K and 10K races, where they are and why you do them. Give us some tips onhow you work 5K and 10K's into your half marathon and marathon training plans.??

I don't have plans to run single 5k or 10k this year as looking for a pr. I probably do it as part of my training. The only 10k I plan to run is Battle of the boulevards 10k because is like my neighborhood race and they do try to get the community involve. The race is on May. As for 5k I don't run them a lot because I am not use to run a 5k for 20$ or 25$. As for a favorite 5k or 10k I have one for each one. My favorite 5k is the one that I ran on trip a few weeks ago. This is a monthly race that have been been going for more than 10 years in the exact same location and is held the last Saturday of each month around 5pm depending on the heat and humidity. Is held on Central park in SJ Puerto Rico by this club. As for a 10k is one on my held at the end of September on Catano PR. Is really flat and really competitive. I have improved each year that I had run it. I don't run it since 2005 but before.
As for training I am big believer of tempo runs. Do 4 to 5 miles target to 10 seconds faster that your target goal pace for the 10k. I know is hard but that will get the body use to run at the wanted time.

In regular training I hit the bike trainer and put a solid work out on it and then did 30 minutes of stretching. For me thats a lot due to my laziness on stretching. Tonight swim and run inside because right now is 27 with a real feel of 17 and tonight is suppose to be 11 with a real feel of 1.

A 29 deegree Wednesday

Yes that temp as I post cold cold, officially my 2009 training has started. Yesterday I went to the pool and swam 2300 meters in 56 minutes. Is kind of slow but considering I haven't swim since October it wasn't that bad. Then I went to the trainer and did a 30 minute jog. So I have been doing stuff for the last 3 days so that have me going. The pool last night felt great on the body I really mis it.

Is freezing here at least for me and is going to get worst so I just try to be warm and stay inside for the rest of the week.

In other note yesterday I was having lunch at work and while I watched every body eats. I just began wonder in what part of growing up lunch becomes so burring. I remember when I was at primary school way in to 9th or 10th grade you ate and the go and do some type of physical activity. In my case my lunch time was for playing volleyball or basketball. Of course I had a restriction that the voley coach or basketball couldn't catch me if we had game that afternoon we should be resting in stead of playing. Dam I love those lunch time. I began to wonder when lunch time become so bore. Never mind that was just a glimpse that I had. Lunch should be made to eat and play something fun.
I know I have options like jog or hit the gym but is not the same as playing with your classmates

Tuesday "warm" weather

Yes I am enjoying the last warm day of the week a hot 40 degree day as the forecast for the next 5 days says a highs in the low's 30 and lows in low's teens. That means my training for the rest of the week is indoors.
Yesterday I hit the trainer and then the gym for a lower body work out. My legs today feels like crap so that means that yesterday workout was solid.

The Gaza situation is bad and I don't hear any complains on the news simply is unacceptable.

An organizational weekend

Yes basically that was this weekend organized everything. From food to closet to books. We clean and get everything back on track as 2009 have role over. I also watched some NFL action. On Sunday I was able to train, went for 6 mile run and then hit the gym for a good upper body session. Hopefully today I make it to the pool and then hit the gym and the bike.
I am not having a good time right know in aspect of my life right now so let hope is solve soon. By the way is not regarding my gf she is find.

Cold weekend

This weekend is cold and I am going to use it get back on track in all aspects of my daily living. I will train and do other stuff. This new year I plan to implement some changes so as this being my first true weekend of the new year I am going to start.

On other stuff The Gaza situation is bad and the USA who always support Israel not mention a lot. Let hope the new guy at the house do something right about it.

The NFL playoffs are in full force and some game are really exciting to watch. My GF that hate NFL watch the IND SD game last Saturday and she admitted that it was exciting. The AFC is wide open and both game are going to be closed. NFC is I think the Giants are one step ahead of the rest

In the European Futbol now is a great time to watch because players are in their top shape.

Back

Yes after 2 weeks of beach, Medallas, friends, family, good conversation, fun, 80 degrees, some sick Culebra, bonus dolphins on the sea. I am back to DC/VA/MD.
2009 started good so far. I have some goal as everybody and I will posted soon when I have them clear in mind. I didn't gain weight as to last year that I gain 5 pounds. I consider the no gaining weight only fat a successful trip. I train for the 7 days over there but then didn't do much just walking and some swimming. My camera passed away over there to excess of sand on the lens. Will see if it can come back. They raised the fair of the bus to go to work by a lot. More on that in the weeks to come.
Other than that I am getting back on track.
I know my post today is kind of random but tomorrow I ll be back in full force
